I recently returned from a whirlwind 31 day tour of Europe with my two sisters, my cousin and my girlfriend. We flew from Toronto to England and picked up the tour two days later. On this trip were 7 Canadians, 1 from USA, 2 from New Zealand and 27 from Australia.What a great time we all had with all our travelling companions or should I say "cultered pilgrams". That we were.
Insight had a very full itinery and kept us on the go. Everything was very well organised. Bob W our tour director certainly done an excellant job considering all the different personalities.
I had tore the cartlidge in my knee just before I left, so had my knee in a brace and used a cane. He went out of his way to make sure I got to see and do as much as I could. He was very helpful to several who did have falls or had problems with health issues. Our Bus driver Federico was excellant in manuevering us through some very tight spots as he drove us all over Europe. As for myself I felt very safe in both their hands.
We had excellant weather and enjoyed many laughs travelling I believe over 9000km throughout Europe.
Each day a New Journey began and it's not the destination we reach that's most rewarding, Its the journey along the way.
I took just over 2000 pictures but it is the memories that I will treasure forever.
My motto is LIVE, LAUGH AND LOVE and the world becomes a better place.
I would highly recommend Bob W as your tour director with insight on future trips.

Hi Jeannelewis, We are just about to depart on the same tour and hope we enjoy it as much as you did. I can't wait now as its only just over two weeks until we leave now. The TA called today to say our tickets have arrived so we will pick them up tomorrow.

Hello Pat, how did you go picking up your tickets? Any last minute hitches or surprises?

No last minute supprises but they didn't include any price list for the optionals or a copy of the itinerary, said they were "unable to supply it at the present moment" and if I hadn't been addicted to this site over the last few months I would have had no idea what the optionals were and therefore couldn't have budgeted for them so no wonder some people get caught out big time. They said go to the web site to check it out. A lot of people our age (mid 50's)still don't have the internet on I'm sure so this would be a big issue for them. I thought if I could download and print them why then couldn't Insight do that as well. There must be a good reason they didn't want to do this. On our tour we are looking at about $4000 AUD extra for the optionals. A lot of money if you didn't know about them beforehand. Other than that the excitment has set in now and I can't wait for the next 2 weeks to go by.

Curious that Insight couldn't give you any information on optionals, little things like that make me a little nervous! I see from your post's that your tour starts 22 April, a week before mine, hope you've packed your thermal undies, it's ben snowing of late in England!!! Good luck on tour, have a great time.

Hi Chris thanks a lot. I emailed Insight to see who our TD was and they sent me a message a couple of days later saying it was Bob Willemse. He sounds great so I am now getting really excited. I couldn't figure out about the optionals either, it's too much money not to have any warning and I really don't see why they wouldn't include them with the other infomation. I'm sure all will be revealed but I do agree it does make me a little nervous as well. I have packed plenty of warm stuff as we are driving around the UK for a month after our Insight tour and I am sure it will still be cold then. Your more used to the cold whether than I am I would imagine. I'm sure we will all have a great time.
