Hi all,
If I wish to add a single photo to a post on the BB, whether it is a tour tale or just part of online information how do I do it? I thought that sometimes as well as information or links to web addresses it might be relevant to have the odd visual of a suggestion or an area - "picture worth a thousand words" etc. Sometimes the BB contributors may have photos that are relevant but not taken actually on an Insight tour? I realise there is the Display Image icon on the bar at the top when I am writing in the message box!! I also have posted albums with no problems, BUT - if I dont want the photo to come from an album on the BB, a random picture for instance, where do I save it to first for the photo link to then work? I didnt really want to start adding photos to sites such as Flicker or Shutterbug but may have to if that is the only way? Hope the question makes sense. Hope your answers will make even more sense! |

Hi Eve,
it is really quite simple to add a single graphic to a post. Step 1 You need to prepare the graphic for posting on the BB. If you want the graphic to be displayed, it probably needs to be no larger than about 640x480 pixels. If you simply want to have a clickable link to the graphic, then any size will do. [You can find information on changing graphic sizes in the post How do I post photo albums on the Bulletin Board?.] Step 2 With the graphic ready for posting, click on Add Attachment? in the editing window and two entry windows will appear: File Source and File Description. Click on the Browse button and find the graphic on your PC. Step 3 Click on the Post Now button and your graphic will load and will show up as a link at the bottom of the post. Step 4 If you actually want to show the graphic in the post, then right click on the link at the bottom of the post to copy the URL, go back into the editing mode and use the UBB code which comprises "IMG" in square brackets before the URL and "/IMG" in square brackets after the URL (removing, of course, the quote symbols). Here is my example: phil cinque_terre.jpg (128 KB, 76 downloads) Cinque Terre |

Thanks for the prompt reply Phil.
I cant believe I didnt notice add attachment - that's so silly!! Meanwhile - I am still gob smacked by the absolutely gorgoeus and colourful photo. Its beautiful, the colours are amazing. Thought I'd practice and match with another famous 'village'. Not as colourful, more in a terracotta sort of way. Yay! It worked. Thanks.
