Hi all!
My husband and I are going on the Easy Pace Russia at the end of June. We are excited that it has been listed as a definite.  I cant wait to take pictures of the glorious buildings and visit the Hermitage. We are also going on the Grand Tour of Scandinavia on 5th July. Greedy two tours at once! Cant wait. Hope to see this one as a definite as well. Checking regularly. I have enjoyed reading everyone's stories and questions. Hope I can be some help in the future too. |

Does anyone know what hotel Easy Pace Russia will be staying at in Petersburg? I've stayed in the Pribaltijskaja before, but that was decades ago. For me the major drawback of that hotel is its location. It's closer to Finland than Nevskij Prospekt. Actually, it's not that bad, but it is quite a walk to the nearest metro station.

The brochure has us in Sokos Vasilievsky Hotel & it's only a couple blocks from Vasily Island station. It is a little closer in, I'm happy to report.

What do you mean by definite? I thought the preferred departures were definite.

Rubbiyatta, if you go into the section called "What's happening at Insight Vacations" and then scroll down to find the article on Definite departures by John Boulding it will tell you about this in detail and probably make more sense rather than me cutting and pasting.
Our Scandinavian tour has just been made definite also so I am doubly excited. Yay! I think it is a great change because I feel more confident about the tours leaving now and can make other arrangements around the tours. |

We're on the Easy Pace Russia Tour departing June 13. We're going to spend some time on independent travel in Bavaria prior to the Insight Tour. We're close to Eve 777's dates but not on the same tour.

Hi Jim,
I hope you have a fabulous time on the Easy Pace. We leave Melbourne on the 27th June so I will keep an eye out before hand on the BB to see whether you have time to go on and tell us how you are going and any hints.  I have been reading parts of the Lonely Planet Russia and some DK books on the main cities. Are you going straight home after this tour or doing something else on the way home? Are you organised?  Last night I noticed that there is someone else going on the same tour and same dates for Easy Pace Russia as my husband and myself. How exciting. So - Hello to Janet from Hong Kong too. Eve -
We are going to spend a week in Bavaria before the Easy Pace Russia tour. After the tour ends we fly from Moscow to Frankfurt and will spend 2 days in Frankfurt before we fly back to Calgary. Usually I wait until we are back home and post a tour tale. If there is anything in particular that would be really useful to know in advance I will try to post it for you while we are on the tour. Our departure is looming. Only about a month to go now.  |
