Anybody going on this tour or has anybody done it before .It is our first tour by coach in Europe. we arrive in London June 7th and staying at the Thisle Marble Arch.

If you look under Tour Tales there are some great stories on the Romantic European. They will just about cover everything you want to know. We leave London just the week before you on the European Explorer so is coming around quickly now. We arrive in London on the 29th May. There are also a number of great pictures of your tour so have fun searching.

Hi! We're not going on this trip till September, so I'll be looking forward to you travel tale!
I'm eager to see what the "maybe" optionals will be. I won't to see where I may want to spend more free time exploring.

We have been on one Insight Tour before and a couple of other tours but this is a first tour of Europe for both of us so is very exciting. We have both been to London before and I have been to Paris. We are following our tour with a self drive around Ireland for a couple of weeks.
You will find the bulletin board very helpful and so many people ready to amswer any questions you may ask.
Just 75 sleeps and we are on our way Big Grin

Hi Like you we are wondering which will be the best optional trips to do and when to just 'do our own thing' We do want to see the Leaning tower of Pisa but other than that are not sure which will be best. Anybody have any recommendations?
We will be able to let you know in July/August which we did before you go though

We are on count down too and after the tour we are going to have 2 weeks in UK and then 1 week in Borneo to see the Orang Utan in Sabah on the way home

I will ditch anything I have to to see Anne Frank's house. It's on my MUST see list.
I'll send my hubby off on the excursion and I'll go on my own (since he has no idea WHO she is)Wink

We're on the North Side too. I have to go jacket hunting soon and have no idea what to get. We have such constant weather here, but I freeze at 23 degrees. Smiler

You'll love Sabah. My friend had a recent holiday there. She went on a day trip on a plane. It leaves at dawn and takes you to see the Orangutan in the wild on an island. She said it was awesome.

We will be on the Romantic European a week earlier on June 3 and the excitement is rising!
John and Chris, I can highly recommend the orang utan sanctuary in Sabah. We were in Sabah in July last year. We flew from Kota Kinabalu to Sandakan on a tour which combined a visit to the Sepilok orang utans (awesome is right!) with a night on Turtle Island to watch the turtles come ashore to lay their eggs and to release hatchlings into the sea. If you can manage it I'd also recommend staying the night in Sandakan to give you time to visit the Australian War Memorial park on the site of the WWII POW camp - an emotional experience. Whatever you can fit in you'll be sure to enjoy it.

Thanks for info on Sandakan. We will be going to Sepilok to see the orang utans there and glad to hear it is awesome apparantly you can adopt one and they look very cute. Are also having a couple of days in Brunei at the Empire Enjoy your trip and guess you are one week more excited than we are
