Hi Kathy and Rosemary,
I also am travelling thru Turkey on your Sept tour. Only 4 weeks to go till i leave....(going from Vienna to Istanbul by bus first!)can't wait!! I am a solo traveller..so it's always nice to hear from people before leaving..it gives me some friendly faces to look out for!! |

Hi Claudine going on both tours you are doing but the next ones departing after yours. If you are in Australia can you tell me what you have done/need to do or have found out about visas for all the countries. Our travel agent states there are only two required ( I can't even remember which countries as I'm at work) but I just feel a little uneasy as it's ten years since I've been overseas.

Well I haven't checked in here for a while. So good to see a few more people. Welcome! Aussiemum are you doing our tour starting on 3rd?
We are leaving Australia on 2 Sept arriving in Istanbul around 7.25 am on 3 Sept. It's getting very exciting now. I have to go back over all the posts here again it was so long ago that I read them. Claudine did you pay the single supplement or are you sharing? Reason why I ask I am sharing. I'm travelling with another couple where meeting up with another girlfriend at the end of the trip in Istanbul. Kathy |

Hi Kathy, Not long now! Its been a traumatic few weeks here culminating in getting my wallet stolen on Tues(i thought i was going to have to cancel!!)but am leaving this Sat morning. Yes, i am sharing so u never know, we may end up being roomies!! Rosemary, Can't wait to meet you too! Where in Melb are u located? We will be able to exchange photos when we return. Aussie mum- Don't worry, it will all be fine and you'll have a great time! You need to put aside $20 US for a turkish visa which u purchase on arrival! Have a great trip! Yes i am sharing |

We are leaving on 2 September arriving the morning the tour starts. Getting very excited now and have started to pack. I have been checking out the weather in Turkey and it looks like it's going to be hot. Sorry to hear Claudine about your bag that would have be so disappointing to have to cancel so close to leaving. the webpage, Visa Fees at Border Gates for 2009, published by the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Foreign Affairs, specifies either $US20 or €15 for a 3 month tourist visa for Australian citizens. thanks Phil I have read through all your reviews but a while ago. I picked up my documents from the travel agent last night and she said it had to be paid in USD. I have a bit of USD that I was taking for tips in Egypt but will have plenty of Euro so that's good to know we can pay in euro too.

I'm really excited about the tour now. I'm departing tomorrow afternoon, Claudine I'll probably just miss you at Tullamarine.
