Hello all Egypt Tour Alumni,
Can you help those of us yet to travel to Egypt with your top 3 of each category? 3 Things you're glad you brought. 3 Things you wish you brought. This could be fun as well as informative. Thanks, Bud |

Hmmm...three things I am glad I bought were light cotton clothes and hat, water-less handcleaner and/or spray as well as appropriate medications (Cipro) in case of illness (we never did need it but it was good to have on hand).
Neither my wife nor I could think of one thing that we wish we had brought with us. After perusing the many trip reports on this BB we were well prepared for just about anything. Good questions. I am curious what others may contribute. |

Glad we brought
1) Camera equipment (larger memory card, spare battery and a charger) 2) Lanyards with a rubber ring at the end. The ring fitted perfectly over the neck of any bottle of water. Left us completely hands free. 3) Antenal pills. Ok cheating on this one. Bought them at the hotel but glad to have them with us nonetheless. Wished we had brought...Nothing really. We seemed to be totally prepared for this trip. A first |

The three things that we are glad we took.
1. hats 2. hand sanitizer 3. sunscreen The one thing I did't bring and ended up buying in Germany after our trip was a travel book on Egypt. If we had had one I would have read up on the next days sites we were going to visit. I have reread the book a number of times just to refresh my mind. I found it a lot to take in each day and even though I kept a journal sometimes everything just ran together and I could not remember what was what. Have a great trip. |

Three things i was glad to have brought with me where 1. My hat
2. My camera both video and still 3. My Laptop Had five memory cards with the camera but was way pleased to have had my lappy there with me ran out of room on my memory cards after the first week n egypt, there were 5x2gig cards but all my photos were taken in RAW format. So the Laptop was a Blessing for saving my photos. The three things i wish I had Brought with me are even easier LOL 1. MORE MONEY. 2. MORE TIME. 3. MY WIFE OR DAUGHTER. Dont get me wrong i went on my own but was part of a tour group, and had a great time with them and the Tour Guide was a god send to he knew what he was talking about at all times and had a great sence of humour. BUT i missed the personal companionship of someone close to have been there with me to have been able to share this once in a lifetime experience. |

The only thing I wished I had brought, was a small pair of binoculars. If you are taking a boat cruise, there are so many things to see on the shore. I just wish I had been able to get a closer look at all the goings on.

Having just returned from “Jewels of the Nile” I’m very glad I took
1) my small folding UV umbrella which has a silvery coating – it provided welcome shade and protection. 2) the excellent floor plan of the rooms in Cairo’s Egyptian Museum from the Rough Guide, and a copy of the “Museum Tour” from the Lonely Planet. Both were extremely useful when we revisited the museum on our own. 3) a flashlight – useful on various occasions, and especially when returning to the boat after the Sound and Light show at Abu Simbel. |
