About 2 more weeks to go and I'm starting to really look forward to going to Egypt. Any problems or issues with changing travellers cheques at the hotel or airport? Is there anywhere they are not accepted?

Travelers cheques are real dinosaurs now. They're not worth the hassle and are becoming harder to get changed.

All you need in Egypt is your ATM card, your credit card and some cash on arrival. I always pick up a couple hundred in the currency of the country I'm landing in before I leave. It's nice to have a few local bucks on hand in case the transfer doesn't show up and a taxi ride is necessary or to tip the transfer etc.

Egypt is a safe place. Take usual precautions with your money and you won't have a problem.
