I just returned from a trip to Greece Sept. 2009 using another company (Homeric) because of a post here about the cruising portion. The bad review made me shy away from Insight though I'd used them for Egypt and Eastern Europe. I just want everyone out there making their decisions to know that for the cruise, EVERYONE will be on the Loius Cruise line ships in the Aquamarine or Agean Pearl. These are used by Globus, Trafalgar, Gate 1, Insight, ******, Friendly Planet etc etc so do not chose your tour based on the cruising as it is ALL the same. (Terrible 2 star boats btw, literally just a form of transportion from one island to the next.) All the tours use the same shore excursions as well as listed on the Louis website. The same is true for any hotel stays during an inland Mycenea, Olympia, Delphi, Meteora tour. The Amalia hotels are all used by the same groups as above. The buffets in them are terrific--the rooms are kinda stuck in the 70's but are 'interesting' .
Base your tour on what you need to see, price, and the hotel choices in Athens or Istanbul as you will be traveling with all the other tour groups you decided against using for the other portion of your tour.
Hope this helps with making decisions--I know I would have loved this information before making my decision.
