The A category rooms do have a large window looking out on the Promenade deck. We were in B category on the Main deck (near the reception area). We had a large window too but did not overlook a promenade. I don't recall exactly what was out our window except of course lovely vista. The C category rooms had small port-hole type windows and were lower down in the boat.

Hi AnnieB, we got our TA to ring Insight office for this information, then you can look up the cabin configerations/deck plans of the particular cruise ship by googling. You can put in a request for particular cabins, but as I understand it Insight are allocated a certain number of booked cabins for each category and your TD allocates from there. We were advised that we would not be allocated any 'obstructed view' cabins.

Thank you both for the information. It's good to that the B cabins are also good accomodations. We're hoping to take one of the Greece/Mediterranean land and cruise tours next year. Now I'm just waiting for the info to come out on the 2010 tours. Hopefully the price won't go up too much from this year! The Greek Island cruises seem to be the only tours where you can't book at 2009 prices if you book early.

To be honest: I would recommend an A cabin: it's worth the money. we were in an A cabin higher up in the ship. we not only had a big window to look out, but our room had a small couch and chair area. we saw some of the smaller B class rooms and they didn't have the "sitting" area and it made the room very tiny. we also had a fridge, which was handy as we bought our own water on the islands and it was much cheaper. If you can, get the A grade, it does make a difference in the size of the room.

P.S. I did write a review on this tour/cruise if you want to read it. We thought it was fabulous!

I am booked on the same tour leaving Sept. 23. Did you get any information on the cruise part? Generally, the cruise line sends info about meal times, excursions, etc.

I know what I want to see, but don't know what I can do on my own or with a shore excursion tour.

All of the info concerning the cruise will be provided by Insight. You will have an Insight TD on the ship who will look after your group - generally, the Insight group travels together when doing the ship's excursions and the TD will organize all this at the beginning of the cruise.
