Have those who have travelled to Jordan obtained their Visas before they left Australia or is it simple enough to obtain it once arriving at Amman airport? Thanks.

Hi mandyg.
We plan to purchase both our Jordanian Visas and our Egyptian visas at the airports when we arrive.
We based this plan on what we have read on this bulletin board.
Make sure you have $US to purchase your visas.

I checked the Jordanian consulate web site and it advised Australians and New Zealanders are able to purchase their visas at the border. Enjoy your tour.

Happy travelling.

Normally you would buy your visa on arrival in Jordan, the exception seems to be if you go by road from Jerusalem to Amman over the the Allenby/King Hussein Bridge. At this entry point, no visas are available for purchase, and you have to have one pre-purchased (outside Israel). But as most come in via air, or through the southern road entry gate (near the Gulf of Aqaba) or up north near the Syrian border you have no problem. But be advised that single entry visas purchased in Australia have a 30 day validity FROM THE DATE OF PURCHASE. A Ttrip I am doing caused me to find out all about this. More of interest to most I guess, but just in case....
Cheers

A friend of mine is doing an Egypt, Jordan, Dubai tour early next month (not with Insight) and when enquiring at the Jordanian Embassy (within the past couple of weeks) was advised that they have closed issuing Visa's at the moment, as they have a huge backlog and that she could purchase her visa at the border. I think she is flying from Egypt to Jordan, so will get her visa at the airport.
