Welcome everyone!

My name is Neira Milkovic and I will be the Tour Director on our Bohemian tour starting in couple of weeks. I'm looking forward to be back in Vienna and this - still very exciting and fast-changing - part of Europe.

As the departure date draws closer, you may have some last-minute questions regarding packing tips, money, safety etc... Many of those questions were so brilliantly answered by my colleague and friend Trudi in her posting "Highlights of Eastern Europe, meet Vienna 11 May", it seems superfluous writing it all over again. So, please go to that posting on this same board, read it and if you still have any questions left, feel free to contact me through this forum.

On Sat morning Insight offers you complimentary transfers from the airport to the hotel Hilton Stadtpark (Am Stadtpark 1, tel: +431717000, leaving at 9am, 12 noon and 3pm. In case your arrival does not coincide with our transfers, you may reach OUR hotel Hilton (there are 3 Hiltons in Vienna!) by dedicated train service called CAT. It leaves the airport every half hour, from 6.05am till 11.35pm, costs 10 euro per person, takes only 16 min to reach the city center and leaves you 5 min walk from our Hilton. Other alternative would be taxi ride, which normally costs 35-40 euros per cab.

Our adventure officially starts with an introductory meeting at 6:00pm on the mezzanine floor of our hotel. We'll start on a good note with a welcome drink and have a short get-together meeting that usually lasts around 45 min. It would be great if all of you choose to come - it gives us all a chance to start meeting our fellow travelers and get our tour rolling on!

Until then, stay happy and healthy, have a safe trip to Vienna and if there is anything I could help you with before you leave home, do not hesitate to contact me.

Neira

Hi Neira,

Nice to see you on the Board again.

It was June 2007 that my wife and I had the pleasure of touring with you on the Country Roads of Dalmatia and the Adriatic Riviera and its partly due to the excellent time we had with you and our enjoyment of Croatia that has made us so keen to do the Balkans next year on the Insight Bulletin Board Tour.

To anyone who is lucky enough to be travelling with Neira on any of her tours, I can only say that you will have a truly excellent Tour Guide to escort you and I am certain you will have a fabulous time.

Cheers
Geoff

Hi everyone, it's me again. I just saw that we will start in Vienna in different hotel from the one mentioned above. The name of the hotel is ARCOTEL KAISERWASSER, Wagramerstrasse 8. So, the instructions about how to reach the hotel from the airport do not apply anymore.
Should you arrive too early or too late to use our complimentary transfers, you can catch a bus from Vienna Airport Lines that goes to UNO City VIC and Kagran. It leaves from just outside the arrival hall, every hour from 7:10am till 8:10pm, the fare is only 6 euros and the name of the stop is Kaisermuhlen VIC, in front of our hotel. It will take you approximately 30-35 min to reach the hotel.

Take care and see you soon!
Neira

Dear Geoff and Sandra,

Happy to hear you will join the BB tour next year! There is a lot of buzz about it among TDs as well, it always is a challenge to present a certain part of our Old Continent to a group of experienced globe-trotters like yourself.

Thanks for the compliments, it is always nice to be appreciated. I still like that Dalmatian tour, we are now using even better hotels, and program is working really well. Keep on traveling, as there are many more enchanting itineraries in our book!

Greetings from windy Split! (remember BURA wind?)
Neira

Hi Neira

Sorry for the delay in responding but I have been in hospital for the past 4 weeks.

The 2010 BB tour is finally coming together and Sandra and I will be once again visiting Beautiful Croatia next year. Perhaps when in Dubrovnik we may even get the chance to see the Linoto Folklore Show again. Smiler

Well hello Niera,

We also did the Country Roads Tour of Dalmatia with you. We have subsequently returned to Dubrovnik and Kotor. In fact in August we were on a cruise that docked at Split, WOW - hasn't it changed.

Now you will be thinking "Who on earth is this person". Well ... try to remember ...

The non Croatian replacement coach driver lost the border crossing docs and you were not best pleased with him .... Mad Also, we were together in a fish restaurant in Split on the 25th May 2006 Cool

You are still the only Insight TD to have ever filleted my fish for me, a story I continue to tell to this very day ......Big Grin

Warmest regards,

RogerSmilerandSmilerAngela

Hi Jim

Yes everything is going fine now thanks.

I had a total knee replacement in January that did not go well and last month they removed the knee and replaced it with another new one. A couple of complications resulted in me being in hospital for 3 weeks and 4 days but I am now home and improving steadily thanks.

I look forward to meeting up with you in Bucharest next year Jim.

Cheers
Geoff
