Hola Amigos

Well it looks like another fun-filled season is coming to a close and here in Spain we're already starting our Winter programme with the first departure for the W300 leaving with two full coaches this weekend.

There are lots of tours going and I'm the tour director on two of the departures, this weekend and over the holiday period. We are getting into the cold weather so you might want to ensure you bring something warm, particularly for the evenings. We will, of course, have those wonderful Insight umbrellas should it decide to rain. It actually snowed and settled in Madrid in February this year although we tend to be a lot warmer than the Christmas Markets (thermals will probably not be necessary).

Being mainly Catholics in Spain in Portugal Christmas is important, but we won't find the celebrations affecting us too much as it is more of a family thing. We will nonetheless get to see the lights and decorations throughout all the cities and the excitement of the kids is as infectious as anywhere.

I am considering doing an Insight tour in this region next sept/Oct, could you tell me what sort of weather is likely.

Sorry it's taken a couple of days to reply. There isn't always time to look at internet when we are on tour. Along with May and June, September and October are the best times to travel in Southern Europe. The temperatures are hot but not too hot (upper 70's farenheit or mid to high 20's celsius)with warm balmy nights. Rain is unlikely. We currently only operate the Amazing in Winter but the Best of Spain and Portugal is a similar, if longer, itinerary which runs at that time of year.
