Hi Jenny, I do not know as of yet, tours will be allocated much later, sorry. I'd like to be your Tour Director, I do love sunny Brisbane! Kind regards from rainy and cool (18C) Vienna - Carl with a "C"

again Vienna: Museum of Fine Arts for rainy Saturday and Sunday. The largest Brueghel collection ("Return of the Hunters") - as it will be cool and rainy, take a "Fiaker" Horse carriage with your Tour Director ("Elegant Vienna" option) and be dropped at the museum or nearby on Heldenplatz....

getting to know Vienna - the best place is a traditional Café (coffee house), where you enjoy Italian espresso (there is over 30 different types of coffee) and a selection of national and international newspapers. No, this is not like Starbucks, it is a place to sit for long, and to the surprise of most of my Americans, they do indeed serve tap water - delicious in Vienna, as the water is coming directly from the Alps via a stone aquaeduct!
Yes, it is safe to drink the water here.....

Vienna weather forecast: sunny and 30 C (85 F).
Go and visit Schoenbrunn Palace early in the morning with Insight (Insight gets you into the Palace before the official opening) and then discover a little gem in the Palace gardens: the Schoenbrunner Bad (Pool area) within the gardens, great swimming, nice lunch and lots of locals enjoying sunshine and a splash in the water! Or head over to the world's oldest Zoo (great ice cream at Rhino Bar!) and see a Tyrolean Farmhouse (great Speck & Schnaps, all organic, to sample some local dishes)in the Zoo. Have a great time in Vienna, maybe finishing the day at Plachutta's Restaurant for some "Tafelspitz". See you there......

One of the lessons of life: "When in Rome, do as the Romans do". A Tour Director can smoothe your way into a different culture, you have to live it and enjoy it! What is "normal" to one, might be completely "out of whack" for another. My advice: come to my city to enjoy "Gemütlichkeit" and wonder at the locals and their way - it is not better or worse, just different, no matter if you are North American or Australian, you'll have fun to notice the differences! Kind regards Carl "with a C" - good example: all other Carls over here are KARL "with a K"

visit Mozart's House in Vienna, daily from 10 am to 6 pm,right behind St. Stephen's Cathedral - nice 10 minutes spent in a newly refurbished house, shows you how they lived around 1800 AD.
Go for Vienna Gingerbread, great taste, the best in the world, makes a nice and inexpensive gift (manufactured here since 1685) at Metzger - next to the horse carriages on Stephansplatz!

How about a concert in Vienna? After all, Vienna was the artistic home to such masters like Mozart, Beethoven, Haydn, Richard Strauss, Schönberg, Berg, Mahler, List, Bruckner, Johann Strauss and his family, Ziehrer, Schubert and many many more.
You got to go to Kursalon at Stadtpark and enjoy a waltz concert and wonderful operetta melodies! See how we dance the waltz at over 1500 ballroom receptions in winter - ask your Tour Director to get the tickets for you!

I don't know about the waltz, but I've seen Austrians dance the Polka! Absolutely terrifying, something like a cavalry charge. Wink

When you travel, remember that a foreign country is not designed to make you comfortable. It is designed to make its own people comfortable.

Salzburg Summer Festival is on - try to get some tickets when you are going to Salzburg. Phantastic concerts and a special: "Jedermann" ("Everyman") in front of Salzburg Cathedral....
