Dragon.......

Your photos are now viewable within your report, and quite remarkable. The balloon ride over the peaks appeared to be very breath taking. Are you in the shot where your group is taking lunch beneath the tented area, and which one are you ?

Cheers......

TC

Dear Dragon
A very eloquent and informative TT. We're hoping to visit Turkey in 2010 and your TT has given us food for thought. Did you find the tour tiring as I noted there was mostly very early morning starts?

Thank you for giving me such a wonderful read and your pictures are fabulous.

Happy travelling.

Yonyon, I found the pace of the trip ok not too tiring. However you have very little free time and we were always busy going somewhere all the time, there are very few 2 night stays.
We usually left at 9 am, I think, so I did not feel rushed. At the end of the trip we left very early, ie Izmir, supposedly to miss the rush hour, Canakale to catch the ferry to Gallipoli and in Istanbul for the sightseeing.
You do have a free day in Antalya but I enjoyed the arranged boat trip and then went to the museum in the afternoon.
I did not feel rushed at the sightseeing sites but I travelled in Oct and there were not many tour busses except for Cappadocia, where there were a lot of religious and German tours staying at our hotel.

Dragon - I really loved reading about your trip. That is so helpful for us as we leave for the Treasures of Turkey trip next week and we are very excited about the trip. This is our first trip with Insight, and I have a rather silly question. I did not realize that Insight usually has more than 1 bus of people on the tour, and those people seem to travel as their own group. We love meeting people from all over the world and enjoy traveling with people from other countries, so I am hoping that Insight does not try to put together groups of people from the same country. Do you know if it is a random allocation? I noticed that most of your group came from Australia and New Zealand, and that is where you are from. Any info is appreciated so that we know what to expect of the trip.
