My wife Jeanne and I took the 17 day Best of Spain and Portugal this April. The dates we picked were in part decided upon because they included "Semana Santa" holy week and we had read about the importance of this week in Spain. The highlight of Semana Santa are the elaborate processions held throughout the country but are particularly elaborate and impressive in Seville. We were in Seville on Holy Thursday and were able to witness the processions first hand.

My wife and I have travelled extensively throughout Europe but this was the very first time on an escorted tour. We picked Insight because of the itinerary and the style of tours, not to mention the coach with less tour members and more leg room. The coach was as advertise-comfortable with plenty of legroom.

A most important aspect of our trip was the tour director,Javier Rodriguez Soto. His goal was to not only show us the fabulous sights of Spain and Portugal, but to give is an intimate look at the Spanish and Portuguese people and their culture. He was excellent! Javier was friendly, efficient, and gave us the true sense of life on the Iberian Peninsula. He had an excellent sense of humor.

When in September will you be doing the Spain/Portugal tour? We will be touring there starting September 12th-27th. Are we on the same tour as you?

Hi Robert.

We went on the Spain,Portugal and Morocco tour in April 2006 and were in Seville on Easter Thursday. The procession passed our hotel at approx 6pm on the night and again in the opposite direction at 1.40am on Good Friday. It was a sight that we will never forget. Got some good video. Jim
