You will go into St Isaacs cathedral as an included visit - was that what you meant? If not post back here and we'll have an answer for you tomorrow! Sue and Paul

We did a Baltic cruise last summer to St. Petersburg, and went to the cathedral of St. Peter and St. Paul. Inside there are the tombs of the czars, including the new one for the Romanoffs. If you have time, be sure to see the Cathedral on Spilled Blood, and Peterhof Palace. Magnificent!

It says in the tour that I am going on that you go to to Peter and Pauls fortress but also in the optionals for that tour you can go to Peter and Pauls Fortress. Now I know you you can enter the fortress free but to go into the museums and cathedral you have to pay. What I want to know is when Insight take you to the fortress (not the optional) are we taken into the cathedral or do we have to pay to go in?

Sue and Paul-St Isaac cathedral is a different sight that they take you to. The cathedral in St Peter and Pauls fortress is what I want to know.
Thanks

Hello there, Sue left a message for one of our Russian TDs and he got back to us today. We presume you are referring to the cathedral where the Tzars are buried - it lies within the grounds of the fortress. Peter the Great is buried there as are most of his family, including most recently Tzar Nicholas II and his immediate family murdered during the revolution and the last royal members to rule Russia. Their bodies are there courtesy of Boris Yeltsin who had them exhumed from their original graves and transfered during his tenure.
We don't include a visit but it is usually available as an option - see the list on the tour page of your tour on this site.
Included Premium Highlights in St. Petersburg are:
The Hermitage museum - old Winter Palace The gardens and fountains of the Summer Palace at Petrodvorets
Hope this helps, Steve
