I wish Insight would make it a part of every tour to have a group picture done. Our first touring experience was with another company and we had a group photo made in Florence. We chose Insight for our second tour (for the itinerary) and no group picture was taken. We never mentioned it to the TD because from our first tour experience we assumed it was part of touring and would come later, but that never happened. I've since learned from this board that it is only done at the discretion of the TD. Could that change so it is a part of every tour? We had a great TD and loved our tour but were disappointed we did not get a group picture.

Gee Gertie, we must have been lucky then because we have had a group picture on all of our Insight tours.

Hi there,
You have a good point but sometimes it might depend on the itinerary and locations of suitable photographer for both price and speed of printing. Places like Florence are fairly convenient as there are photographers there whose entire business is group photos. Sometimes it is not so simple.
Definitely worth further thought though and we'll pass this on to the operations management.
We had our Tour Director meeting on Monday and this point wasn't raised but we'll make sure it gets into the mix. Cool
Regardless of a 'formal' group photo, most groups normally take several group pictures - usually we as TDs find ourselves in front of the group holding about 30 cameras and taking pix for everyone! Smiler

like you, we enjoy having the group photo as a souvenir and were very disappointed on our country roads of switzerland tour last year when our TD failed to tell the group that the photo would be taken during an OPTIONAL excursion! naturally one of the few we did NOT take! i thought that was a bit tacky.
