Wondering if the 4 May tour is a guaranteed departure now? Also any idea on what day of the tour would the Alexandria optional take place? Thanks!

I know this is the TD Hotline but they wont be here for another week.

According to the Australian website, (see Prices and Dates, every start of this tour is at "TG" status.

CAI07 FULL DAY ALEXANDRIA: A full day excursion to historic Alexandria including the Greco-Roman Museum, the well preserved Roman Amphitheatre, the Roman Catacombs, Quayet-Bey Fortress and Pombey's Pillar. Later, we visit the Mosque of Abdul Abass and the gardens at Montaza surrounding a former palace of the Royal family. US$99.00

From my experience on one of Insight's other Egyptian tours, this option is only available prior to or after the actual tour. There is no time during the tour to spend a day travelling to Alexandria.

Thanks Phil. Yes from looking at the itinerary we were wondering when it would fit in. We're staying an extra day after the tour so that will probably be the likely time to do it.

Hi Trish,

Pleased to know we will have other Australians on our Egyptian Elegance Tour 4.5.05.

We have also booked the optional tour to Abu Simbel, after a number of recommendations.

At this stage we are not too sure about Alexandria, some positive and negative feedback re this optional - will wait and
see.

We are arriving 1 day prior to tour and will possibly visit the Museum which has been highly recommended to us.

Look forward to meeting up with you.

Hi Margaret,

It will be great to meet you! We are flying out on 3 May, can't wait.

We've also booked Abu Simbel.

Thought we'd see if there was anything in Cairo that we were particularly interested in that the tour didn't cover, then we'd do that on our extra day, otherwise if we were happy that we'd seen everything of interest then we'd look at the Alexandria option (although we'll probably wish we had 5 extra days!)

Are you travelling anywhere else before or after the tour? We'll be stopping off in Singapore for a few days on the way back.

Hi Trish,

We fly to Dubai for 3 nights after our Egypt tour then on to Athens for the 14 day Insight Grecian Delights tour, then home to Sydney on 30.5.05.

Where do you live in Sydney? We are at Castle Hill.

Hi,
We have just heard back from Egypt.

1. Yes, 04 May is guranteed departure

2. The Alexandria optional tour is a full day so is arranged only on pre or post arrival days as it can't be fitted withen the tour itself.
