Travelled on the Italian Escapade tour Oct 08, absolutely brilliant and looking to do the Romantic Europe tour possibly Sept/Oct 2010. Can anyone who has done this tour let me know what month they went on and how they found the chill factor with the weather and was there snow when at Mt Pilatus?

Italian groupie..welcome to the board. Sorry for the delay in responding, but I just saw your post. I have done this tour twice with Insight..in Sept.2004 and just this May. The weather, as my feeble memory allows, was very nice on both occaisons. I like traveling during either of these months as the number of tourists is down and the weather is usually mild. Yes, there would be snow at Pilatus. You will need a heavy jacket. It is a beautiful view up top, but for me the best part is the trip up and down. I am sure you will enjoy this tour if you decide to go. If you have any other questions, pls ask.

Happy Trails!!

Phil

While not wishing to be seen as unwelcoming in any way to a new member could you possibly wave your magic wand and place this topic in the Euro Zone section.

Am sure you will agree that we already have enough related threads on the 2010 tour to be going on with .... thanks Smiler

Thangs Phil,

I never even thought of doing that; saw it as a route to 'Miss' for misbehaviour. Roll Eyes

By the way I owe you a beer or two as I stole a couple of your pics of Plitvice, ours were a complete wash out in 2006.

Are you able to join us on the 2010 tour ?

Hey, sorry Phil I had no idea.

In the spirit of my question, then of course my offer is extended to your wife.

There was indeed a great choice of pics but the ones that your wife took hit the note for me. A Panasonic DMC-FZ18 I recall, I have their LX3.

I am sorry to learn you won't be going, you do a grand job on this site and a face to face 'Thank You' would have been nice to do.

Good luck with the op. My understanding of this procedure is that the stoma is likely to be temporary, so fingers crossed. The other good news is that the 'very unpleasant treatment' is even worse if received prior to the op. You will be fine, honestly.

Best regards, Roger

I am also about to go into hospital for a hemicolectomy and it is possible that I may require some very unpleasant ongoing treatment after that. Frowner

Phil, I have been out of town for the past week (and still am)and am just now catching up with the BB. I'll drop you an email after I get back home tomorrow. A stoma isn't always necessary with this procedure. Smiler
