Now that sounds really good. Less crowds.

With temperatures I prefer to work with averages than maximums because both maximums and minimums over a given time period are the extremes.

I don't believe that Bucharest would be an issue either temperature or crowd-wise since, according to Insight's itinerary, the only time spent touring there is the arrival day late afternoon:
quote:
DAY 1 – ARRIVE BUCHAREST. Morning transfers to hotel. Late afternoon we offer a sightseeing tour which takes in the immense Parliament Palace, University Square and former Communist headquarters.

We just got back from Dubrovnik in May and it was in the 80s and plenty hot!! I would hate to be there in August.

According to Weatherwatch, May in Dubrovnik has an average temperatures of 64F (17C) and, over the past 21 years, a lowest recorded temperature of 45F (7C) and highest recorded temperature of 88F (31C).

Personally I hope the tour is in September as voted for in the January Poll “Your ideal date for travel on the next BB tour?”.

Perchance the data collected for compiling 'average' temperatures is measured using Max/Min thermometers placed on the Town Hall roof so unless the itinerary includes such locations I rather suspect, and indeed hope, that we will all be a tad warmer doing our sightseeing in somewhat more enclosed situations. Smiler

Either way I also think September would be a good choice.

While we were away in May, the paper said the weather in Vancouver was crummy where in actual fact it was beautiful so I do not place any validity in "average" temperatures. I did not say it was hot (in the 80s)when we were in Dubrovnik in May just to avoid an August departure. Cool
