Hi Everyone, Just a short note to say how much we enjoyed our Grand Tour of Italy and Sicily. We went on the tour starting 09/05/09 with our fantastic tour director Ernesta and brilliant driver Fabio T.
We started in Rome with a great tour on the Sunday morning and took the optional tour in the evening. The next day took us to Pompeii, which is amazing, you really feel as if you could meet a Roman walking down the street. The overnight ferry to Sicily is something everyone should experience as it is the only way you could belive it!!! Sicily is the most stunning island. We went down to the sea and up volcanos, we even saw the village where scenes from the Godfather were filmed. We then went to Sorrento which was a bit of a let down but we travelled to Assisi where the views are to die for (and the hotel is fantastic). The next day we went to Venice. It is just as imagined and the lunch on the trip to Burano was worth it. From there we travelled to Florence and saw the statue of David. The leather shop visit is a bit of a waste, as everything is very expensive and the man who took the tour seemed very snooty. Then it was back to Rome for the last night. We saw some magnificent sights and the Italian countryside is so pretty. We came home tired but we had a brilliant holiday. Once again thanks to Ernesta and Fabio (best driver in Italy, has patience) This is just a very brief description of our time there so book it and go and see for yourself.

My wife & I are going on this tour next May. We would like to e-mail you directly & ask some questions about optional tours, hotels etc - if this is OK with you.

Your post of June 21/09 just increases our anticipation of this trip.

Thanks
