I have to admit that I voted for the Italy tour because it really appealed to me. However I think it would be most unfair to those who voted for the Balkans tour (and they are the majority) to consider running two tours. As everyone has said, it is hard enough to fill one tour let alone two and John Boulding can't be on two tours at once!!! Smiler

Hi Margaret,

I don't believe there is any doubt that the Balkans & Dalmatia tour is the preferred tour for the President's Tour 2010 and I'm sure there will only be ONE President's Tour 2010. The only controversy associated with that tour is that some of the people who voted for it would now prefer a longer tour duration and if Insight makes such a change, would there be any previous voters for that tour who would drop out, making it harder to fill a coach? Once that matter is sorted out, there will need to be a poll on when the tour should run and that's another area where numbers may diminish.

With respect to the Enchanting Italy tour (and indeed my other two tours: CR of Portugal, Spain & Southern France and CR of NE France plus Burgundy & Provence River tour), I really hope that Insight find some of the ideas embodied in my itineraries to be interesting enough to utilise them in future tours. I do believe that in Italy, Insight has a gap. I believe there is a significant group of previous visitors to Italy who want a more relaxed, in depth tour, of the kind described in Enchanting Italy. It is not something that would run every week during the tour season, perhaps only 3-5 times a year.

Frankly, with the President's Tour 2010 most likely to be scheduled for about September next year, I'm sure Insight have far more important matters to focus on right now.

Hi Phil, I am quite sure that if Insight ever utilised your ideas for Enchanting Italy they would have a lot of takers!!! BTW, whereabouts in Gosford are you?
