If you check out how the 2008 BB tour was decided on, you will find that there were a series of Polls that were voted on by BB members and it was from those polls, that the tour itinerary was decided.
There was never a particular "upfront" itinerary.
That is my recollection. Mind you, my memory is not to be counted on 100%.

I have just come across your Enchanted Italy ideas. I think it sounds wonderful and would love to do your tour. I hope Insight would look at putting it on their mainstream tours.

I know this doesn't appear to be the top pick, but if it were, I'D BE ON THAT COACH! I've been to Italy many times but this itinerary goes to many new destinations.

I am with you Sue, I would be hoping to be on the coach for this tour too, provided the dates fitted in with the time I am allowed off work.

2 tours dates were actually offered for the 2008 BB Tour (1 in August and 1 in October) although in the end only one finished up running. However that was still only the one formatted tour rather than 2 totally different itineraries. If my memory serves me correctly, despite a number of people saying they wanted an October departure, when it came time to sign up only one person finished up putting their name down to go.

For those members who want to do Italy it would be nice for you to have your own tour and I certainly don’t want to be a party pooper, however I do have 2 concerns:

1. In the early stages of organising the 2008 BB Tour we were advised by Insight that it would require a minimum number of 25 people for the tour to run. In the end 28 members signed up for the August departure (despite probably double that expressing interest or saying they would go) and thankfully the tour went ahead. Running 2 tours in 2010 will inevitably split the numbers with a high risk of neither tour finishing up running due to insufficient numbers.

2. Bearing in mind that John Boulding has indicated that he will personally escort the Presidents Tour in 2010 it may be a rather large ask to expect Insight’s Managing Director to fit 2 tours into his very busy schedule.

Sorry to be a damp sponge folks but I felt I should at least express my concerns.

I share Dragon's concerns over the possibility of two tours - I remember the uncertainty last year when two tour dates were announced for the "Romantic Roads". Despite a fair number of people indicating they would participate in a BB tour, when push came to shove, only 28 people actually signed up. I fear the same thing will happen again if two tours are possible, and neither tour will have the numbers to move forward.
