I have been looking into point and shoot digital cameras, and topping the list so far is the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS3S. I am not, repeat not, a photographer. I just want an easy to use, easy to carry camera. I've been told and read that this one is easy to use and does a good job. Anyone have experience with this camera, or recommendations for another. Thanks

Happy Trails!!

Have you considered the Panasonic TZ series??

or the Canon SX100 or SX110?

like you we are not 'into' photography but are looking for a pocketable camera with as many 'easy to use' options as we can get and with a good digital zoom range.

In essence a compact camera with SLR capabilities LOL Big Grin Wink

I'm some more serious camera buffs on the board will come up with more options for you and better reasons than 'it will fit in our pocket' Big Grin

Yes SKI I have looked at them. But, I didn't mention that I can get the FS3S for $135 from Amazon.com....price for features seems great.

OK ~ putting the price aside is it going to do what you want it to and produce the results you are looking for? That's the main question and only you can answer that Wink

I have a Lumix DMC-LZ5 that I LOVE! The anti-shake technology has saved the day more times than I can count. When my husband wanted a camera, he bought the DMC-TZ1. His old digital camera did not have the anti-shake feature. It seems that we have a tendency to move the camera when pressing the shutter button. The Panasonics have integrated the anti-shake technology very well. If you look for online reviews, you will find similar experiences.

I failed to mention that the batteries we like best for our Lumix cameras are the Energizer Lithium AA batteries. Under heavy use (like vacations) a pair of batteries last more than a week. I just shot over 600 photos and the batteries are still going strong. I carry 2 extra 2gb cards, also.
