Hello to all the experts out there.

Does anybody know why Insight does not have more tours to France? I am looking for one like BOI - the Country Roads of France is a little too long for me.

Any suggestions? Anyone?

I don't know why they have such a little choice. Maybe you should check out Trafalgar tours, which is a sister company of Insight. They do have a lot more choices.

They used to have a few more French tours and presumably there wasn't the demand so they cut them.

Thank you Marie and Colleen. I appreciate your response.

I shall be doing my homework on France tours.

Have to tell you, we did country Roads of France a few years ago and loved it. Saw so many different aspects of the country.

last fall we did both Normandy, Brittany, and the Loire Valley and also CR of France. We enjoyed both, but the second one takes in more of France. They can be combined easily. We did miss the farewell dinner of N,B & LV because the meet and greet for the 2nd tour was the same evening. We saw most of France except for the northeast and the west coast.

I have visited a number of countries, and for some reason France remains my favourite as it is beautiful everywhere. There is still much of France I have not seen and plan to one day, but I have hiked in the Pyrenees mountains, the scenery is stunning and it is a shame Insight does not go here and to the West Coast, which is beautiful too.

The Dordogne region is so full of history and the Country Roads of France tour does spend a bit of time here, which makes this tour, along with seeing the French Alps and the Riviera, a very good tour to do IMO.

The Grand Tour used to go to Bordeaux and Lourdes so we did see a little bit of those areas.

What a shame Insight no longer offers this tour, as both these places are worth seeing too. But as my French friend says, you can spend more than a lifetime touring France as everywhere there is history and beauty Smiler
