To those returning, was the security at the airport in Paris business as usual, or more intense?

The slackest security I've ever encountered was in Paris ten years ago. I went through on my daughter's passport and she went through on mine. No questions asked! And I have a beard. I'm sure it's changed now.

Just returned on the 5th oct went through Paris airport found them a little slack to most .
Did not check for 100ml fluids .We just had to put things on the belt and away they went .
I had a number of fluids just in my carry on nobody check to see how much each contained.

I have to say the opposite regarding Paris airport. I went through very recently. My hand luggage was thoroughly checked. I had to take out the plastic bag containing fluids, take off my coat, belt and shoes. On top of this I was frisked because the metal buttons on my dress set the sensors off. I suppose it all depends on the staff working on security on the day. Milan airport on the otherhand was very lax. I went through with liquid anti-bacterial wash and eyedrops in my handbag.

We too had our hand luggage searched VERY thoroughly. I was getting worried. They took everything out. I had LOTS of breakables. So they felt everything and shook it all to see if there were liquids in it.
They kept asking my husband what was in the zipper section that had no actual zipper handle on it. We spent ages trying to open it for them. It was getting embarrassing, and they weren't very smiliey.
In the end it turned out to just being an extention for the bag. Smiler

Didn't have a good experience on that flight to the UK. It was very delayed. (And there's nothing to do in the terminal at all)
Had to sit on the plane for a couple of hours as the computers were'nt working. o air-con. In the end they brought the drinks tray around and kept us happy. Smiler

we are just back from our French tours. we did not have anything looked at in CDG airport in Paris. The security at Heathrow was much more intensive, including shoes and liquids. CDG has no toilets in the security area. Dumb! [and no seating area except in restaurants in the waiting area outside security.]

Johninwa, I will post 2 tour tales in a while, and especially one of Normandy, Brittany, and the Loire valley, since I don't think there are any yet [unless one has been posted while I was away.] However, I don't think my tour tale of CR of France will be very long, since MightyEl has just posted a detailed one of the trip a week before ours. I will also limit my photos of this trip for the same reason.

Hello ZGordon:
-Welcome back!
-We look forward to your Tour Tales. Your past posts and TTs have informed and inspired us on our travels!
-We are very much interested in your impressions of the CRF tour, and please do post your pictures of the CRF tour. Our pictures on the BB are not that great, and Marcia posted them in a small size, so that we could insert a few as pictures in our TT.
Best, Jim
