You must have a lot more energy than me, Sue. After a typical day's touring all I want to do is "hit the sack"!

Regards,

Chris

Chris, if you were on my tour, I wouldn't let you sleep!! I'd haul you out at night and make you dance til dawn! Big Grin

Seriously though, I love checking out the nightlife in any country I visit. I have some great stories about nights at the Peace Hotel in Shanghai, dancing to the jazz band there who have been playing forever.......sigh..........!

When I'm really old (next year Big Grin ) and through with travelling, I'll look back and say I lived my life to the fullest.

I met some very lovely people much older than me on my recent tour. Also, I met a couple who live 3 minutes walk from where I live in Australia Eeker How weird is that! Plus, another person who has worked in two of the same hospitals I have worked in, but we never met at work, worked there at different times.

It's a bloomin small world.

Hi Petch!

I'm 31 and doing an Insight Tour next month--I had the same concerns as you. I called the company--according to what the operator told me, most people on this company's tours are 30-50.

I've read some of the other responses and that is not always the case. My advice to you? Since you have a companion with you, make your own fun--inquire about night life with your tour director. Try to soak up as much of the culture you are visiting and focus less on any other people you may not feel comfortable with whether it is for age or any other reason.

Have a safe time, especially with any night activities. Let me know how your trip turns out! Good luck!

Staci

I am not sure why but on our trip with Globus there were a whole bunch of us that were 20 to 30 years old. We had a blast on the winter trip called Essential Europe for 12 days. Now, I am not sure if there were a lot of us-let me see there were about 40 people on the bus and of those there were 12 of us under 30. Maybe it was because the Winter tours are less expensive and so more affordable I am not sure. Pretty much anytime you are taking a more expensive tour such as Globus or Insight older people are going to be on it because they can afford it. Probably if you took a ****** tour (the cost saver version of Globus you would find younger people but obiously less quality. From what I remember of the ****** groups we came across they were a bit younger.) You need to decide whether quality outranks finding people of your own age. Both ARE important-we had a great time because we met so many young people but also because of the quality Globus provided. We are probably going to use Insight this time for another tour during spring 2005 called Winter Wonderland.

HI...I am now 21 and I have booked a highlights to Europe tour in Jan, with two friends the same age.
I would say ignore age - we did. I looked at what I wanted to see (everything I wanted was mainly included, whereas Trafalga and Contiki had them as optional extras anyway); where I wanted to stay (central locations I could do my own travelling from) and where I wanted to go.
I found that insight were the only ones that came close to this, so we decided based on this -we were aware that the average age was older, but we don't care - I don't think it will make much difference!
