Roman was our TD on The Bohemian and I agree totally with your assessment. On top of which, he was lots of fun. P.S. Despite marking our city maps of Vienna for us, most of us managed to get lost (and found again). |

Felt I should add my few cents worth to this. Many years ago we did a Globus tour with a TD called Paul Fischer. He did a great job then, and last year we did the Insight Britain and Ireland Explorer tour and there he was again! Now I dont know what measure you use to judge TDs, but in people skills,knowledge and humor this guy has to be the tops. A VERY tricky situation arose between 2 people on the tour that could have caused REAL problems for the whole group....the way Paul handled it was the mark of a true Pro.

Our best tour director was Mike Welsh. But he is no longer with Insight. Has anyone bumped into him recently?

Paul Fischer was superb. We had him as a TD on the Country Roads and Stately Homes of Britain. Just loved him in his kilt!!!
This year Juan Marchena was also marvellous on our tour of Spain and Portugal. Lots of jokes and singing too! |

Paul Fisher was our guide on the B&I Discovery way back in 2003! He really was the goods on this tour. A true gentleman who kept the group in good humour with stories and tales as we went from place to place. A wealth of British history knowledge - he really was top notch - not to forget our driver Kenny who was just as exceptional.

We did three insight tours in 2006. In Egypt we had Naveen and she was great, In Italy we had Brad Mcewan and he was just satisfactory he did all the basic organisation well but was not in tune with the different requirements of the various tour members and ran the tour like a school class, Had Paul Fisher in Britain and Ireland and he was good although he wasnt as good in Ireland as he was in England and Scotland. That said he is the best TD we have had in all our travels

The best I have had by far is Mohamed Rekaby in Egypt - his knowledge was amazing, he was fun and the whole group thought so! He would have made out like a bandit from the tips from our group!!
The worst I have ever had is Pasquale in Egypt, don't remember his surrname but he was terrible, never told you what was happening or barely any information at all then had the gall to ask as to rate him as good on the comment card!! |

Well we had two TDs I would like to nominate. In Italy we had Lorenzo Borelli....incredibly well informed and very entertaining. Then in Ireland And Scotland we had Paul Fisher. Again his knowledge of places and their history was amazing, and he managed to put it all across in a very lighthearted way. Also SUPREMELY well organised. These Two have me and my partners vote!!

We have also had Roman Kopfer as a TG on Eastern Europe and he was fabulous. Extremely professional and organized, helpful and also alot of fun and personable. I would be thrilled to have him again as a guide anytime.

Virginie: Easy Pace France. Wolfgang: Country Roads of Switzerland. Belinda: Grand Tour of Italy and Sicily. They are a credit to Insight and the travel industry in general. Absolute professionals, charming and knowledgable. |
