I would like to add Brendan Lampard to the list of excellent Tour Directors. His knowledge of all the areas we visited in Europe and great organisational skills were amazing and added so much more to the total enjoyment of our tour. We always seemed to be the first in line or seated in the front row in most places we visited.

I would like to add my vote and it goes to Wolfgang Fineder. He was TD for Country Roads of Bavaria, Switzerland & Austria and he also does Country roads of Switzerland. He made us all feel welcome, made us laugh with his stories, and was a wealth of information. He is about to publish a book of the many humourous misadventures which have occurred during his 30 years as a TD. I for one will certainly buy it!

Having been on three tours previously witha rival company we were greatly disappointed with this tour.Whilst Brendan is a nice enough bloke he was ambushed on this tour by a mob who were unruly,inconsiderate,immature and ignorant.Instead of taking control of this situation he compromised and adapted the optionals to suit this rabble.Sorry but how trip wzas ruined.Never had these problems on any other tour

That's a great pity Docker as we found him to be so organised and looked after us well. We had a great group of fellow travellers so guess that made his task easier for him. What tour did you do?

I might as well add my best. ANDY WALKER Spain,Portugal and Morocco. This man went out of his way to assist all. I also might add EUGENHIO our fantastic driver.
I think we tend to sometimes forget the driver. After we completed the above tour we did another in Northern Spain. This was not an Insight tour and whilst we enjoyed it the TD and Driver could not compare to the abovementioned gentlemen. I am unaware if Andy and Eugenhio are still associated with Insight but if they are, JB, could you please pass on our best wishes to them. Jim  |

Well, let me add my two-cents worth. First of all, we, too, had Stephanie Jordan (2 yrs ago on Best of Italy) and thought she was tops. Our driver that trip was "Mauro" and couldn't believe some of the tight spots he got our bus in and out of. Having recently completed Grecian Delights, we can add Demetra Potsika to the list of TDs, along with Stelios Prelorentzos as a driver. From what we understood, Demetra is a free-lance TD and doesn't work exclusively with Insight. But whatever tours she conducts, her groups are in for an absolutely amazing experience.

The best combination would have to be Nathalie Verbeeten (TD) & Federico Pavanello (Driver), and what Nathalie didn't know, I would go he, and Federico as a driver, also. Try reversing a coach in Madrid, with inches to spare either side for over half a km in the middle of the city, with the locals (including taxi drivers going ballistic because they couldn't go where they wanted to) - no patience!, and not being stressed about it - wow!!!!!!, what a driver!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think it's great that we have a forum for singing the praises of especially outstanding Tour Directors. To that end, allow me to add the name Kathy Cecchini to the (top of the) list. She was our shepherd on a Best of Italy tour in the spring of 2006, and hands down, the most outstanding guide I have ever experienced. He unlimited energy, unsurpassed knowledge of all things Italian and obviously genuine care for her guests, are only a few of her attributes. Anyone who is lucky enough to get Kathy as their TD will hae the time of their life.
