Hello Galway Bay -

In my opinion you have really captured the essence of a tour in your post. It is the group dynamic which forms that is a large part of what makes things special and of what we remember afterwards. We start out as a group of total strangers, and as the days go on and we have these marvelous experiences together we begin to "gel" and enjoy each others company more and more. Thank you for reminding us all of that.

And, I'm so happy you and your wife liked the Highlights of Eastern Europe so much. My husband and I can hardly wait.

I've experienced quite a few Insight tour directors in my many Insight tours what I can say is this...they have all been excellent.

Whilst on tour doing the Highlights of Eastern Europe we had Trudie as our tour director. What a wonderful experience made all the more enjoyable by a very knowledgeable person who had a most wonderful personality to match.

Marsha ...I'll be on the look out for your comment when you return home...you'll be over-the-moon... I hope! Once again enjoy.

we had Trudie as well - she was wonderful!! Always had an "extra" little something to add to each and every stop! While at Auschwitz one of our group decided to go it alone and never came back --- it ws a difficult place and a equally difficult decision to make as to what to do - she handled it with dignity and grace --- eventually the gentleman returned - she waited until we were well out of the area before approaching him about what had happened etc. ANyone that has her for a tour guide is lucky indeed!

Thanks General Max, Galway Bay, and Dukemom -

Goofed up my previous post so am trying again. I hope that we will also have an excellent tour guide, and I feel sure we will. And yes, I will plan to write up some comments and impressions of the trip once I return. I know I learned so much from those who have already done so, and so would like to contribute an update.

Thanks Dragon. I appreciate knowing how to do this. We have a wonderful new iMac computer, but I have much to learn about it. Fortunately, my husband is a pro at these things, and can teach me in bits and pieces.

Hello Marsha Darcy- This is my first time on here too! My husband and I are booked on the Highlights of Eastern Europe tour starting in Vienna on the 28th June. Our first nights accom is not yet confirmed for some reason. Is this the same date as you are going? If so - we arrive in Vienna on Sat 27th at 8pm as our flight from Frankfurt is a late one, We have done a few TT before and were booked to do this tour thru them but they cancelled due to lack of numbers and transferred us onto this one with Insight, We are both really looking forward to the tour as we love Europe and love touring and meeting people. If u are on this tour I will look forward to meeting u.
