Wren, you can log onto Singapore Airlines website (within 24 hours before your flight) and select your seat yourself. By getting in early that way you may have a better chance of getting the upper deck. Even if it turns out that all upper deck are taken when you do internet check-in you may still get it if you then ask at the check-in counter.

Hi Dragon
Yes- we did that last year when we went on the European Spotlight tour. We had really good seats but it wasnt the A380. |

You inspired me to go look and we'll have an airbus on the second leg... Singapore to London.
You can check in up to 48 hours ahead and print your own boarding pass. It certainly looks more comfortable than the British Airways flights we took last year. There's also quite a few priviledges at Changi airport too. They're listed here. You only have to show your boarding pass to get complimentary tea coffee and snacks at these places.. http://www.makingmomentsunforgettable.com/pdf/transit_privileges_en.pdf Britian/Ireland Explorer 25 August 2009 Romantic European 2007 |

Hi Laj
I wish I knew about those privileges last year. HAve you flown with Singapore Air before? We flew Cathay Pacific in 2003, Singapore Air in 2007 and I prefer Singapore Airlines and now with the A380 it should be an even more conmfortable flight. |

No I haven't! We flew with Qantas and BA last year. The family I'm travelling with this time used Singapore Airlines and spoke highly of it. They were the best option for flying out of Paris too. I certainly had no freebies last time! Hubby made sure to have a massage booked though and he enjoyed that while I shopped.

Yes we are in the process of booking flights to Europe and are probably going to forego the free night accommodation in London if flying with Qantas or BA, in favour of using Singapore Airlines. Reason for that is we are leaving Paris instead of London and to fly back to Oz we would have to go back via London. Using Singapore we have less stops.
As for price, if the Travel Agent books through Insight, the fares are $50 pp extra, not much I know and I guess Insight and the Travel Agent aren't doing it for nothing either, but it certainly doesn't work out any cheaper, so am thinking of doing our own flight bookings. Further if you have a stopover in Singapore until March 2009, there are so discounts to be had. Singapore Stopover Discounts Cheers |

Last year, I checked out what Best Flights had on offer, re airline prices. From there, I then checked out the various Airline websites.
I then took the best ( for me) departure/arrival times with a particular airline to Flight Centre. My TA checked what they had on offer and as they (flight centre) couldn't match the airline price, she booked my flight for me, via the Airline. Some people are comfortable booking their flights online. I prefer to book via a TA. |

Hi all
I've booked my flights for next year with Qantas and I'm on the A380 Sydney to London and am flying home from Paris to Sydney with a stop over on Hong Kong. I was happy with the deal I got through my TA. Jen |

Hi all
My wife and I have just returned from UK and flew from Heathrow to Singapore on the new A380 on the top deck and agree the flight was great, just under 12 hours. It is the first time we have flown with Singapore Airlines and we were impressed, previously we have flown Qantas a number of times, we have found Qantas to be way behind Singapore Air and will not fly with Qantas again. |
