I will be in Rome one day prior to the the actual tour starting on Saturday, 9th October. Please could someone advise what time earliest I am allowed to check in to the Cicerone HOtel?

In most instances hotel check-in is 2pm. We were very fortunate - we arrived at the Cicerone at 9.30am and, because the hotel hadn't been fully booked the night before, were able to check in.

It really is the luck of the draw. If you can't check in they will hold your luggage and you can go sightseeing. The Cicerone is very well situated and it's easy to walk around. Enjoy your tour.

With maybe one exception, we have not had a problem with a morning check-in on the day of our arrival.

However, you mentioned you will be arriving one day early, so you have reservations for that day early arrival?

Thanks for the replies. Yes, I have booked in at a different hotel for the Friday night, but would like to check into the Cicerone on the Saturday morning so that I can start some sightseeing. Even if my luggage can just be kept safe, that should do just fine. thx

Nadia - we stay at a Rome hotel which is more central for a couple of days before the tour. On the last day we leave our luggage at the central hotel while we do more sight seeing then return to that hotel and pick up our luggage and get a taxi to the tour hotel in the afternoon. It works for us.
