When you need to relax after ploughing through the travel advice in the above data links, here are links to a wealth of Travel Advice Roll Eyes in some travel-related quotation web sites:
A few examples:

  • 'As I have grown older, I have needed more stars in my hotels.'
    - Anonymous
  • 'Everywhere is walking distance if you have the time.'
    - Stephen Wright
  • 'A journey of a thousand miles begins with a cash advance.'
    - Anonymous
  • 'Not all those who wander are lost.'
    - J.R.R. Tolkien, Lord of the Rings
  • 'Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.'
    - Mark Twain
  • 'When I was very young and the urge to be someplace else was on me, I was assured by mature people that maturity would cure this itch. When years described me as mature, the remedy prescribed was middle age. In middle age I was assured that greater age would calm my fever and now that I am fifty-eight perhaps senility will do the job. Nothing has worked. I fear the disease is incurable.'
    - John Steinbeck
  • 'Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but the moments that take our breath away.'
    - not sure of the origin (contributed by BB member: Sadie. Also quoted in "1,000 Places to See Before You Die".)

Thanks, are there still a number of duplicats?

Thanks for featuring both topics, John.

My best guesses on the remaining duplicate posts are as follows:

  • Insight Vacations Forum: about 5,000 duplicate posts
  • Travel Advice Forum: looks about right
  • Archived Posts Forum: looks about right
  • Tour Tales Forum: about 300-400 duplicate posts
  • Meeting Friends-Before You Travel Forum: no duplicate posts
  • Meeting Friends-After You Travel-Stay Intouch Forum: about 250 duplicate posts
  • Holiday Photos Forum: looks about right

How many actual topics this represents is anyone's guess. The duplicate topics were very obvious in the small Tour Tales Forum but much more difficult to check for in larger forums like the Insight Vacations, Travel Advice and Archived Posts Forums.

Would it help if we "reported" duplicate posts (by clicking on the icon) or would that inundate your PC with messages?

Thanks for highlighting the forums, I have now deleted all the duplicate posts. And moved posts from the Archived forum into their correct sections or at least tried my best to sort them out.
