What I noticed this year traveling in the US is that I locked my suit case at three different airports ( I just have the ordinary locks) and when I collected my cases the locks were still on. I remember a few years ago they broke the locks and did a search. I found that very interesting.

Hi Cats

Thanks for that, I just thought it was interesting that they have changed the system. When I was in the US in 2003 we had to unlock our cases and they put the cases through an exray machine and we could relock it again thats was in L.A. When we went to Montana we had to leave cases unlocked and there was a time that my lock was missing when I locked my case. In 2006 when I was going to San Francisco and returning to Oz they didn't seem bothered if the cases were locked or not. But this time June this year I completely forgot about cases being locked while in the US so I locked my case and when I collected my case the lock was still on. They seem to be more interested in getting you to nearly strip these days.

Oh the fun of travelling

My wife and I recently returned from the UK. We had TSA approved combination locks on our luggage, 2 locks on each suit case, going from Phoenix AZ to London and from Edinburgh to London, London to Phoenix and did not have any problems nor were we asked to remove them. We flew with British Air on all flights.
