Hi Fuzzypuppy,
On my resent trip to get around the washing problem we ask at reception for a laundromat.
We were given a map by our hotel staff found it easy put a load on went out had coffee back for drying out again very easy .Did this in Lucerne &Nice
No problem a group of us did it we mad it a fun thing

With drying..maybe it depends on the time of year? It was getting colder and the rooms were well and truly heated, therefore, clothes dried easily overnight and even jeans dried well on the 2 night stays.
Microfibre knickers were fantastic. They dried within an hour.
But I'm with you Fuzzypuppy. I detest handwashing...with a passion. So much so that before I went on my trip I had emailed all the hotels to work out the best place to have everything cleaned. Didn't need to at all. Turned out to be no biggie. Maybe because we only had a few items??

Wow, that's a really good idea, Laj. I'm going to do that!

I'll bring some hangers and laundry soap just in case but I hope I never have to use them.
