Julie,

If my schedule works out, I'll have a day and a half in Amman on my own before the tour starts. Any suggestions as to what I can do in the area of the hotel?

Thanks!!

Smiler

Thanks to Julie for her insight on Insight. I will look forward to meeting Jane and Mike on our tour in four weeks. I think we can look forward to a great experience with our group and on this combined itinerary. I have been trying to arrange optional add-on excursions through my travel agent and through Insight. I have been told to either make the arrangements on my own, or to wait until Jordan and negotiate these through our local guide (Khaled?). I was trying to add on some scuba at Aqaba for the afternoon and evening we have the full day at Petra. Chech may also be interested in our plans for the day after the tour ends, when our group of four guys hopes to arrange a day trip down to the Dead Sea for relaxing in the curative waters and a bit of spa or mudbaths at one of the upper end hotels there. We may ask the Crowne Plaza in Amman to help us with the car and driver down there and back as well as the place to hang out while down there, or we may just check with Khaled. I suppose Chech could email the Crowne Plaza in advance and ask for their help, or to see if their concierge has any other suggestions. Cheers, Rosier

United Travel Agency are the tour company that looks after the Insight Tours in Jordan in Amman. They are great guys to deal with. There fax # is 962 6 566 0269, no email I'm sorry. There are a number of tours you can do from Amman as Jordan is a small country. Can I suggest that if you can get your visa before going to Jordan, it will make it very easy to get through cusoms and immigration.

Ah, I'm just looking for something to do around the hotel area in Amman. I believe it's in the downtown and was wondering if there was anything of interest that I could walk to. (I'm assuming a solo female walking alone in Amman isn't a problem)
