Hello General Max. We are touring the western part of Canada, but not with Insight, but an Oz based company as their itinerary was so much better - pity as we would both have loved to travel again with Insight. Our trip includes a ship tour with Princess Lines from Vancouver to Whittier. We then continue on to Fairbanks with a highlight trip to Coldfoot. Wish it was tomorrow!

Yes we are. The tour we are doing starts from Victoria. We have 2 nights there. I'm hoping to fly up in the morning from San Fran so that my wife and I can have our own look around in the afternoon before the tour group thing happens that first evening.

Iggy, United has just started a direct flight from SF to Victoria [2 hours] that leaves SF at 9 am. Whether or not there is enough demand for it to continue until next year, I don't know, but that is by far your best bet if it is available. Otherwise, it is about a 5 or so hour flight with connections in Seattle or Vancouver.

If you do get here early enough, one good thing to do that I do not think is on the itinerary is a tour of the Royal BC Museum, downtown, by the Parliament Buildings.

The Princess Lines are beautiful ships my experirence going the Inside Passage route to Alaska on the Diamond Princess was wonderful. I notice that Insight appear to be using other shipping lines now for their tours.

Hi ZGordon, just thought I would let you know that we have booked the direct flight from San Francisco to Victoria through United Airlines. Amazingly last week, they notified me that they have changed the scheduled departure time from what was 9:05 am departure to a 11:40am, so we now arrive at 1:50pm instead of 11:15am - and this is just 2 weeks after I booked and 11 mths out! The flight was half full when I chose our seats, so makes you wonder when it is 11 months away. Have also just booked the last flights we require - Fairbanks to LA. We spend all day flying - yuk!

Hi, Iggy. Glad you got your flight. We haven't heard about the change in flight time yet! I guess this new connection will be successful, if it is half booked 11 months ahead.
