I had to start the Alaska thread again. Is anyone considering including Alaska in their travel plans for 2008?

Hi Max, Yes I'm still looking at it providing I sell enough houses before then!!! As the single supplement is nearly the cost of the trip again.

travellergirlray, Alaska is a trip of a lifetime. You will really enjoy it. Is the housing market as bad where you are as it is here in the USA?

Yes it's really quite here too, alot different that when I started 5 years ago. I only do lifestyle and rural as well so a more limited market anyway. I'm still trying to decide whether to do Scandi & Russia or Alaska next. I'd love to do it all at once!! Especially as we are so far away before we even start.

I would suggest the 21 day "Grand tour of Scandinavia" It doesn't go to Russia though. We are planning on taking it on July 17, 2008.

That's the one I was looking at and probably adding the Moscow & St Petersburg (5 days I think) on as well, since I'll be in that neck of the woods.

We have booked a Holland America 10-day inaugural cruise on their new ship, the Eurodam. This leaves Copenhagen on July 5, 2008 for Norway, England and Scotland returning to Copenhagen on Tuesday July 15, 2008. The land portion of "Grand tour of Scandinavia" will start from Copenhagen on Friday July 18, 2008 which will allow us 3 extra days in Copenhagen.

In this spirit ...
We are planning on attending a motorcycle rally in Whitehorse, Yukon in late June 2008 and may take the ferry to Skagway AK to get there. We also plan to tour some in Alaska, paved roads permitting. Is there an Insight Alaska tour with a land only component starting and finishing at the same spot? If so that just might work. |

Hi There. Yes we have booked "Majestic Canadian West" including the Alaskan cruise, departing Calgary August 4th, and the "Great Western American Adventure" departing San Francisco 29th September 2008, and waiting for new timetables for European tour.
