Is anyone considering a trip to Alaska in 2008?

Hi Max,
I was going to do this next year too but decided on Scandinavia & Russia as they didn't go to Denali National Park. Now the new book is out they do go to Denali so big decisions to make.

We have been to Denali Park in 2004 as part of a Holland America cruisetour. You will enjoy Denali Park and Alaska. We stayed at the McKinley Lodge right outside of the park.

Hi 'All', just back from our 2 tours, Canada/Alaska/USA... a tour director can make or break a tour and we just had 2 that, for us, broke the 2 tours. First TD had a cold that developed into pneumonia (should have been replaced, really wasn't interested), the 2nd TD was a people controller, very angry, loud and actually screamed at the group at one stage. I will be notifying Insight thru' my T.Agent. Joanne

What a sad story! Why don't you go to the top of the screen here and hit "contact us." Someone monitors that and I'm sure they need to know your story.

Did you have an evaluation form (or did the TD's forget to give it out????)

Hi there, yes we had our forms but I was informed the TD opens them. The forms are anonamous but each envelope had our names printed very small on the back.... we bought ours home to do after some reflection of the overall trip.Sad in as much as we were 'paying' people not 15 years old kids being brought back into line. These were our 4th & 5th Insight tours and most possibly our last, very disappointing. Thanks for your reply, Joanne

Dear Joanne,
I did the same thing with an evaluation form for another company. I didn't want the TD couple to open mine either. I did mail mine in and can only hope those people never led another tour. In my case, I asked for "salad dressing on the side" and the gal leader said to me, "You should have asked me to do that." I told her I was an adult and I could do it myself. (I'm retired!!)

Hope you have a better experience whenever the next time comes!

Contact your travel agent concerning your experience with the tour director. They will likely carry more weight in daeling with a negative issue.

Thanks G.M. I had actually spoken to my TA and she wants to get together to formulate an official complaint towards the 2 guys involved.
I must say, we did enjoy the trip but the atmosphere in the coach was not good and it's a lot of $s spent for these incidents. Will keep you up with my contact with Insight but I really don't think we'll use them (for a while at least) till we have spoken. Joanne

On our first tour with G****s, we had a terrible tour director. It was their "Best of Italy" tour. We complained to our travel agent after we returned. She contacted G****s in their Denver office and we were sent a $200 voucher to use on a future tour. The letter from them asked that we give them a "second chance"

We did. We booked a tour to Hawaii and the tour director was outstanding.

I hope in your case, Insight responds the same way. If they do, I wouldn't hesitate to give them a "second chance". We think Insight is a terrific tour company.

Cheers
