You probably have it right. As far as clothes go my list is based on likely laundry opportunities. Shirts and t shirts can be easily washed but I prefer to have enough underclothes and socks to last until a washing machine or laundry is available -- one criteria for choosing the Basel hotel we are using between tours was that it had laundry facilities.

Other things on my list include adaptors, a set of small screwdrivers and all the pesky wires needed to charge up camera, razor, phone and laptop and connect the camera and phone to the laptop.

Hi Katinwa, Brenda, and Tangata, Thank you for the travel tips. I feel better now. I like Brenda's idea of keeping the list for next trip so I am not second guessing myself about what to take next time. I did fine last time. I am a last minute packer, though. Thanks to all of you!

topmom,
If you are still on, go to the chat room. If you have never done this, go to upper LEFT where it says "GO" and then hit fourth option.

then highlight I.t. chat or whatever that is in blue. It might say "active users 0" but I'm there!

Confessions of a "list keeper" - I put a list of the CLOTHING I have taken in the back of my little notebook. When I return, I note how many times I wore that piece of clothing. I then know the next time if I should take it again.

I think "Madam" and you will relate on this one! Sometimes I have difficulty in determining which day/site a video clip or photograph was taken. Madam has one look, notes what she was wearing and tells me which day and place it was.

Only 2 nights to go for us. I can't believe its already rolled round. We have most of our packing organised - just a few last minute hitches as Garth was away for so long, but no great dramas.

I must admit with the recent Qantas dramas we tend to look at each other & roll our eyes when we hear of another incident. Still, they have one of the best safety records in the business. I think the heart will still do a bit of a flutter as we take off.

John, thank you so much for remembering my Guinness. However, I really don't expect you to bring me one. As its an International flight you can't carry it, & I would hate for it to be broken in your suitcase. One day if one of my dreans comes true we'll get a housesitting job in Ireland & we can visit you & share a Guinness then.

Don't know if I'll get to log on tomorrow night but if not, safe travelling everyone. See you in Frankfurt.

Tuffet,
Given the recent incidents, Qantas will be extra careful and its flights will be even better then before. So no worries! Happy landings and see you guys in Frankfurt.
Patrick: thanks for the strike updates and links.

Tuffet,
John Ebbs flight is not international! He's coming down from Ireland.

He's a joy to "talk with."
