The BB "Club BON VOYAGE" Tour departure date is almost upon us and I still look at this tour with some incredulity: not only is it happening but happening with the full hearted support of Insight.

BB member Molly should probably be credited with initiating the idea on this BB in December 2003 (see: Bulletin Board Member Trip!) with the questions:

The idea was tossed around for a while by several of the long term members of the BB, including Linda, Max, Didsbury, diann d, Chris Marriott, Jack and of course Pauline who is actually going on this tour. I posted a lengthy suggestion on how the details like itinerary, length and time of year of the tour could be decided using the voting capability of the BB (see: my post). However, after some humourous banter, the whole idea lapsed, probably because we all saw it as something that BB members would have to totally organise and maybe even lead and no one was willing to accept either of those responsibilities.

Imagine my suprise in early 2007 (after a post to the above topic by Cazbee) when Insight's MD (John Boulding) announced that they were fully supporting the idea of a BB Tour and were planning to use the BB voting capability to decide on the destinations, timing and duration.

I would like to wish all participants a great tour with good weather. Wish I was going with you all!!

I'm looking forward to a large number of tour journals and photos: have no doubt, the BB has enough space to accommodate them all!

Well we are all packed and we have one more night here in Oz then we fly out tomorrow morning to Singapore then to Frankfurt the day after. Thank you Phil for the well wishes and we too wished that you were able to come on the BB tour.

I wanted to do this trip, but in October. Since nobody was signing up for October, I just didn't bother. My travel buddies usually book for August, so I was actually considering doing a trip in August with friends, and the BB tour in October. However, I just came back from a TT in Eastern Europe and it was great!!

Trust the well-oiled wheels have you safely travelling and with much bonhomie. Quite envious- have a wonderful trip BBers.

I would love to have done the August or October trip, but my Headmaster will only let me have holidays in September, then very begrudgingly!!


It would have been great to meet the 'frequent' B&Bers, they all have great personalities on air. I reckon they are going to have a great time together, Just watch this space for when they return, we won't be able to get a word in edgewise

I will just have to deal with Italy on my own, this September, I don't think it will be too hard to take and I am sure I will meet some lovely new friends
