Correct Dragon. The email I received read "I'd like to let you know that you will not find a voucher for your departure transfer in the document. This is due to an error in the system that we are unable to print this voucher now.
However, rest assured we will email the voucher to you as well as we will fax a copy to you at Sheraton Offenbach when you check in on 20 August." I didn't know if this was a problem specific to Singapore or Insight wide. It sounds as though it might be Insight wide. Although your theory certainly has merit, but I would think that there are a lot of different flight times involved. Our flight leaves at 11:55 which I guess means a 7:30 departure time from the hotel. I must say that we have had great service from Insight in Singapore. When you travel, remember that a foreign country is not designed to make you comfortable. It is designed to make its own people comfortable. |

My comment re “the 2 coach transfers that were mentioned earlier this year” was in relation to a letter I received from Insight on 4 September last year (shortly after we registered for the BB tour). That letter stated as follows: "Free of charge transfers are offered on the first and last day of the tour at certain times as listed below: - Arrival transfers on the 21st of August 2008 depart Frankfurt Airport at 9.30am and 1200pm - Departure Transfers on the 3rd September 2008 depart Hotel at 0800am and 1000am (Please note that if passengers require transfers outside of these time or with pre and post tour accommodation they will need to organise these independently or organise paid private transfers with us – price comparison for this option can be found on page 158 of the 2007 Premium Europe and Britain Brochure)." We originally had arranged a flight from Frankfurt to Prague departing Frankfurt at 9.25am but as a result of the above advice of transfers on 3 September being at 0800 and 1000 (and the fact that we will be travelling from Rudesheim which is about 60 klms away from Frankfurt) we had to cancel that flight and book an alternative flight departing at 1215 instead. On the basis of your stated 1155 flight I guess that means that you will be on the 0800 transfer the same as us. |

I also don't have a transfer voucher BUT I honestly don't recall having received one any of my tours. (My memory is not the best. What I do remember, is that the TD would check (a day or 2 before the end of the tour) to see what time our flights were departing on the last tour day and advise us what coach departure time we needed to utilise. If we were not departing on the last day, there was no transfer offered. |

We received our documents on Monday, late I know for a departure next Tuesday, but Garth was away for a month so that held us up.
Now we are racing around organising all the last minute jobs, but keeping the list from 2006 has certainly been a big help. We look forward to meeting you all in Frankfurt. Tuffet |

As sugested by September, I post the following!
Our documents say “Please meet your Tour Director in the hotel lobby at 16:45 hours for welcome drinks, please confirm this by checking the hotel’s notice board.” I’m not sure how that fits in with an orientation tour, but I suspect that, hopefully, we might have a short meeting and make use of the long evening for the tour and have dinner outside of the hotel. There are such lovely restaurants in Germany it would be a shame to eat in a “standard" hotel. When you travel, remember that a foreign country is not designed to make you comfortable. It is designed to make its own people comfortable. |

Just received an email from Insight in CA informing me that my documents would be sent this week and I should receive them next week - so I'm still waiting!

Tangata, we have had previous Insight tours which included a city orientation tour on the first day with itinerary wording similar to that in our BB itinerary. On those occasions the Orientation tour started around 2pm or 2.30pm and then we had the welcome drinks at the “meet ‘n’ greet” in the evening. After the meet 'n' greet we proceeded into the hotel restaurant for dinner. Perhaps you may be right in your conjecture but I am assuming that the BB tour will be the same as our other tours in this respect. |
