Well we are just back from a week away in the Mekong Valley. In part it was a rehearsal for Europe, making sure that all the bits worked. Just as well as it happened, on the first evening I plugged my camera into my laptop to download and was informed that to run the necessary programme required Micromedia Flash. Not difficult to download at home, but a problem without a broadband connection.

Even at home it wasn’t as easy as expected and it has taken most of the day to get things partially working. There was an additional complication, one of my DVDs had become corrupted and I was blaming the reinstalled programme for the resultant problems.

However, it is clearly better to have discovered these problems now than on a cruise in France.

When you travel, remember that a foreign country is not designed to make you comfortable. It is designed to make its own people comfortable.

Tuffet, how are things going with your back?
Hopefully there has been improvement and you have joined Garth on the Gold Coast?

Hi Pauline

Thankfully I can now lift my leg without pain, but still having some back & hip pain. However, its much better than it was, although I'm still having problems sitting for long. As our trip will be around 26 hours Sydney/Madrid I'm still a bit concerned, but I have 2 more treatments to go yet so Im sure I'll be OK.

Garth is still on the Gold Coast. I was to fly out tomorrow morning but have had to cancel my flight as my father's health has taken a turn for the worse. He's pulled through several times in the past but we don't think that will happen this time. He's 89 & has been ill for many years so maybe he feels its time to go. Its just a case of wait & see.

Tuffet
