We just received our Winter tour catalog in the mail today. The Winter Wonderland tour is now $1625 US land only. We took this tour in 2002 when the land only price was $699 US. I can see why fewer Americans will be traveling to Europe this year and in 2009.

Cheers

I did this tour last year. It was a BLAST!!
We had excellent hotels and and excellent TD. Her name was Sarah and she was very knowledgeable. I must say the best part of the trip was Mt. Pilatus. Cold and Beautiful. If you have any specific questions regarding this trip i'd be more than happy to answer what I can

Cheers

Hi Shannon,
What month did you do your tour? Do you visit the Swarovski shop in Innsbruck with the group? The hotels all look ok on the internet. My daughter has had me check out the fitness facilities in each one as she is a bit of a gym junkie and will want to do a bit of a work out from time to time. How many of the optionals did you do?

Cheers Denise

Be sure to do the Lake Lucerne optional cruise. If you visit the casino in Lake Lucerne, be sure to have your passport with you.

When I was in Lucerne last time we did the Mt Stansahorn and carriage ride thru the countryside so the cruise will be on my list.On that tour we stayed in Engelberg and visited Lucerne from there. I see pictures of Linderhof castle in several galleries for the winter wonderland is this part of the tour or is it an optional?

Cheers Denise

Denise,
I went in december the 10-19. I did visit the shop but i am more of a scenic type of girl and was not much into the actual indoor shops. I did do all my christmas shopping at the christmas markets though and came up with some awesome gifts. One shop I would say is a defineite must in Munich (if you like your alcohol) is the Schnopps Shop. Fee taste testing. I think they had 40 or so flavors. I tried a few i will admit Smiler I also went on most of the optionals. The two big ones for me was King Ludwigs Castle. The walk is a little long uphill and I'm not the fittest of people but it was managable. It was gorgeous. No pictures allowed though (bummer) and I also loved the Sound of Music Tour. I have seen that movie a hundred times and now when i watch it i have a bigger appreciation for it knowing everything i learned from the trip.

The lake Lucerne cruise was pretty but not worth it in my opinion, and the sleigh ride in Innsbruck also was pretty, but too cold. We were huddled in blankets up to our nose trying to keep warm. My group was singing trying to warm up a little.

The other 2 i did not particiapte in but i heard they were pretty good.

As Far as the hotels i thought they were alle excellent especially the one in Lucerne. It didn't have room service which i thought was weird but they did have a full service bar on the top floor which i enjoyed.

Anything else just let me know Smiler

oh and P.S if you get the chance in Munich right in the heart there is a pastry dish they serve in one of the booths and it's to DIE for

Cheers
Shannon

HI Shannon,
I'm on the Dec 9 tour this year, and can't wait! How many were on your tour, were most Australians ( where is Riverside?).
Do the markets operate day and night?
Thanks Pip
