I am interested in doing the winter wonderland tour on Europe. I have never been in Europe before and am not sure what to expect. I am from Australia and have travelled in the springtime before

This is an excellant trip. We took it in March 2002 and it was better than we expected. If you are coming all the way from Australia, you might consider adding another Insight winter tour.

Cheers

Max, I have not been on this particular tour which is a 9 day tour covering parts of Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

I have however, on several occassions, been to all of the places visited by the tour and there is some realy spectacular scenery. Of them all my favourite is Lucerne and the scenery from Mt Pilatus, Mt Titlis and Mt Rigi.

I liked Mt. Pilatus and the casino in Lucerne. Don't forget your passport if you want to get into the casino.

Hi Frank1610

I am considering taking the Winter Wonderland Tour again (did it in Nov/Dec 04) as I think that you miss out on a lot the first time around trying to see everything. I had such a great time I wouldn't mind covering the same territory again. A lot of people would probably think me loopy for wanting to go over the same areas again but if you really like a place why not go back and re-visit if you have the opportunity.

I was a bit concerned about the weather at that time of the year as sometimes it can be colder over there Feb/March but you mention an "early spring" - what sort of temperatures do you mean? What was the mix of ages on your tour? We had from 11 yrs to about mid-70's but everyone mixed in well together so we all had a great time. Who did you have as your TD and Driver? Appreciate any info you can pass along. Smiler

Glad you had a great trip. Any thoughts on doing something else later on?

Penny

we had Mike welsh as our Tour Director. I forget the name of our Coach driver but he was Austrian and went out several nights with a single schoolteacher on our tour.

Hi Max, thanks for that info - sounds like there's hope for me yet.

What time of the year did you do the tour - was it more towards Feb/March and what was the weather like? I think I remember you mentioning in another post that you didn't see much snow either on this tour?

Thanks

Penny
