Maybe i missed it but I don't think that there were guaranteed tours for winter trips & unfortunately, you have booked a block of your vacation time. how would you know if your trip's a no-go and how far in advance? Do the first trip and the last trip in the insight brochure usually leave anyway? What was your experience usually with insight tours and winter tours? Am thinking of going on a bus tour for the first time ever and so am teeming with lotsa questions. This forum is so great as there are a lot of experiences across the board from previous travellers. Thank you very much.

Happycamper 37 does not seem to have posted since June so you may not get an answer.I am looking at doing a winter tour next Nov/Dec and have been having the same problem with working out how to choose the date. I have looked at this years TG dates and am going to book the first one that seems to match next year by the day of the week not the date. I have put in for my holidays then and hope for the best.

I booked the Easy Pace Italy winter tour, meant to depart Dec 14 07, but was told last week it was cancelled (so that's about 5-6 weeks notice). My travel agent suggested another tour, but I haven't heard anything from Insight directly. They did, however, guarantee my place on my second choice tour, and also gave me the early payment discount as I had already paid).

Marianne -- I just replied to Aussie Mel's post on Winter Explorer (under Travel Advice). Yes, I have been on this tour in March - we went this year Mar 22-Apr 6. I've travelled in March for my last 3 tours and I like this timeframe because it's less crowded and I find the weather is just right for me (based on our Canadian weather, it feels like Spring and Fall).
