Hi Happy Valley... I am also seriously thinking of doing a winter wonderland tour this December 07. My concerns are which date to choose and what the risk is with having it cancelled. Any comments with regards to dates would be appreciated. I would love to hear more details of what the christmas markets are like. For instance how are they different, is it the atmosphere, the gifts, the decorations for sale. I suppose I am wondering if they are what we would call "tacky" or something really special. Am also single female travelling alone.

We took this tour in March 2002 and really enjoyed it. It convinced us to book future tours with Insight. It is really an outstanding tour. Back in 2002, the land only portion of the tour was only $699 per person.

Did you decide whether you would take this tour? I'm a single female traveler too but was hesitant about traveling over the holidays alone. It would be nice to know that I wasn't the only one in that boat,

Hey Margs,

Ok, I got my Winter Booklet in the mail today. I haven't been able to locate a local travel agent to help me with arragements yet so I'm not sure if there is still space available.

I think if I were to go it would be on the 9 day not the 10 day trip.

Since I'm only 1+ yr into my new job I'm going to have to figure out how to sweet talk my boss into approving the time off lol.

I was considering the Nov 30th tour but I guess I need to get confirmation of availability.

My husband and I are going on the Winter Wonderland Tour in the Spring 2009. What are the optional offered? I'm particularly interested to know if there are any Rhine river cruises offered but interested in knowing about all. Thank you!

Hi Portia,
My daughter and I are booked on the Winter Wonderland tour starting Nov 29th this year. If you go to the top of the Insight Bulletin Board page and click on tours you can look at the winter tours including this one. It tells you the optional suggestion list for this season. There are no Rhine River cruises offered.Take a look there are good optionals available. They may change slightly next year.
