Does anyone know why the most of the dates have been taken off the tour details. The dates were all showing a couple of weeks ago. I am a little worried it is because of the economy and people have stopped travelling. I have booked and paid for in full an insight tour for May 2009. Has anyone any ideas about the dates not showing?

Hi Deb & Gary,
I noticed the same thing the other day too. I am assuming that they were taken off in preparation for the release of the 2009 brochure with preferred dates etc. I have a strong feeling that the details should be out within the next week or so. We too are in a similar position to yourselves where we have paid for a tour, but now want to see if the dates slot in with a preferred date departure. I am sure you have nothing to worry about, the only concern being about the cost of air travel. The early bird prices for the airlines should also be coming out this month.

Hi Crow Eaters,

We are also waiting to see Preferred Departures and were told we can change to a PD for a mall fee if our dated is not a PD. Our Travel Agent has an Insight Travel Night with an Insight representative on the 29/9/08. We are going and hope that will answer some questions. The Travel Agent said The early bird airfares are coming out towards the end of this month.

Some Early bird airfares are already out..I wouldn't wait too long to book as availability fills up quickly, even with the way things are in the economy. Let me know if you need any further information or contact your agent to have first hand access.

My 2009 tour has been pre booked and completely paid for, for a few months now!
This time, Insight have guaranteed that the price won't change for us. Last time we had to pay a difference when there was a price increase, but it was different this year.So long as we paid by a certain date, that was our final price.

Laj, I did the same thing and was told that my price would not go up, but could go down if the final pricing was less.

It's a good option isn't it? Last year we DID have to pay quite a bit more than the pre-registered price. It'll be interesting to see if we have saved when the new brochures come out. Nice to know it's all done and dusted too.

Just received notice from my TA that Insight will be crediting me back $821.96 on my 2009 booking. I had booked under their 2009 preview pricing and guarantee. Originally the pricing (including single supplement) had increased $1162.81 (20%) over 2008. With the credit, it appears the 2009 pricing is increasing by about 6%. This is US dollar and single supplement.
