We are delighted to advise that our new look website will be launching soon!

The website will host many exciting new features including full details of our extensive 2009 product.

As many of you will be aware our 2009 brochures are out now and are available from your local travel agent or can be ordered via our website.

I look forward to seeing it John. Smart move not stating a date.
The new Trafalgar website that was due to come on-line on the 17th October is still not on-line. Frowner

And there have been plenty of comments on TT about it not being up yet as well Pauline.

John did the right thing not specifying a date.

Richard,

with the change of background colour on the BB web page, the following text at the bottom of the webpage is no longer visible:

Similarly, the Terms of Service are difficult to read as they comprise white text on a pale grey background.

The link to the Privacy Statement results in a 404 message:

The requested document was not found on this server.

go to http://www.insightvacations.com

The link should be: http://www.insightvacations.com/au/privacy.htm. It is currently http://www.insightvacations.com/privacy.htm

Another issue is that when an edit screen is opened, the text is now pale grey and not easy to read. Could you return it to black, please?

phil

PS. I am using Internet Explorer 7, version: 7.0.5730.11

Perhaps I will get used to it but at the moment I find it a bit hard on the eyes and have to concentrate slightly to read.

I rather like the artwork at the top but to me the text colour is too light for the greyish backgrounds. Not enough contrast between the two.

This problem is certainly magnified in the edit screen where the text is grey on white(as Phil has already commented on).

I don't think I will get used to the "new look" for the reasons Dragon has stated.

I will never understand why people want to change something when it is good and works for everyone. If a change is made, then it must only ever be for the better.

Unfortunately in this case, it is not

Apart from the issues I raised above plus the need for a slight darkening of text to improve the contrast, I believe the changes are for the better. The BB now looks very slick, more modern!

I presume that this change has been made because the new-look Insight website will be adopting a similar format.

The new Insight Vacations website seems to be on line in all regions and my first impressions are OK except for one annoying feature: a good 30% of the screen is taken up with an animated GIF file cycling through place names:

Immediately underneath is a Flash slideshow which cycles through 17 images.

These are very distracting when you are trying to read information on the screen and there is no synchronisation between the text and the images so you might have the word: "Turkey" showing above with a picture of Florence below. Fortunately, I have a Flash blocker in my browser so I can eliminate the distraction of the images but the animated GIF remains! I know that some will not agree with me on this (my wife doesn't!).

It is also interesting that the overall holding company is now called The Leading Travel Companies.

There also seems to be a problem using the print button [ ] that sits at the top right of each of the tour pages.

See: print image example.
