Just returned from 15 day Highlights of Eastern Europe Tour. If anyone is planning this tour, it is truly amazing. It's not an easy paced tour...up early and on the bus. There is a lot of walking but so much was covered. Our TD Mojca Pagon was great. She was so knowledgeable about the countries that we visited and made the trip enjoyable. The tour had a group of 25 ... which made it nice to get off the bus and not much waiting to use the facilities! The bus had plenty of leg room (as advertised). Would certainly use Insight again.

Hello,
We are booked for the Eastern Europe tour this September. Any tips regarding currency exchanges while traveling in Hungary, Poland and Czech Republic?
Any other information items or optional tours you enjoyed would be appreciated. Thanks,
Sue

We took the Highlights of Eastern Europe in September 2006 and enjoyed it very much. We purchased most of our funds for Hungary, Poland and the Czech Republic at Wellington Exchange in downtown Kingston Ontario. If you wish to contact us, we are in the local Kingston phone book.

R Taylor on Rivermeade Avenue.

Hello,
Thanks for the reply...it is helpful to know the little short-cuts that take the guess work out of the planning.

HELLO SUE: I am also one of your travel companion of the EASTERN EUROPE Sept. 27
I hear the Bus is full Anyway about the currency exchange my sugestion maybe we should call Insight because last year I went in the 38

FANTASTIC and we did not have any problem exchange money in the country where we needed, like CROATIA. I be looking forward to meet you

Hi Victoria,
Glad to hear from you and I appreciate your tip for currency. Insight's reply was also helpful, and I've copied it here for anyone else who has questions:
"The best thing to do is to travel with Euros, and exchange funds locally as needed. All countries will be able to exchange Euros more easily than Canadian dollars. While we do not offer exchange services, the Tour Director will indeed be able to advise you where and when the best time is to do this. Certainly the banks and exchange offices will be able to help you, although not all hotels will do this. In terms of budgeting, we suggest approx. $100.00 CAD per person per day for incidentals, although this amount can vary quite a bit depending on the lifestyle you enjoy.

I hope this is helpful, and that you enjoy your touring holiday with us!" (Insight Reply)

We are planning on taking Euros and prior to leaving home, obtaining currency for countries not Euros for our lunch and incidentals.
Enjoy Spain & Portugal and we will certainly look for you in Vienna. Happy travels.
Sue & Brian
